## 0.8.0 - 2026-09-09

### Fixed

- `query_gql/1` no longer expands to an unreachable `raise` after a document
  loaded with `load_gql_file/1` or `load_gql_string/1`. Elixir 1.20's type
  checker reported it as "the right-hand side of || will never be executed" at
  every call site, which failed suites run with `--warnings-as-errors`. The
  fallback is now chosen when the macro expands; the `query:` option and the
  `:missing_declaration` error behave as before.

### Changed

- Added a GitHub Actions matrix for Elixir 1.18.4/OTP 27 and Elixir 1.20.4/OTP 29.
- Updated credo so `mix credo --strict` works on Elixir 1.20.
- Require `plug ~> 1.20` and `absinthe ~> 1.12`. The previous floors admitted
  plug 1.18.1 (GHSA-468c-vq7p-gh64) and absinthe 1.7.10 (GHSA-9mhv-8h52-q7q2,
  GHSA-qf4g-9fqq-mmm7), which have published high-severity advisories.
- Updated all dev and test dependencies to their latest releases (phoenix 1.8,
  bandit 1.12, absinthe_plug 1.5.10, ex_doc 0.40). The previously locked
  bandit, phoenix and absinthe_plug versions also had published advisories.
  `mix hex.audit` and `mix deps.audit` now report no retired packages and no
  known advisories in the lock.
